Staged work cycle for ensemble
Ultraschall – Festival for contemporary music  | Berlin
January 2012

Seven perspectives on the theme of „memory“, based on literature by Walter Benjamin, Marcel Proust, W.G. Sebald and Mirko Bonné: A LONG WAY AWAY is a one hour work cycle by Berlin based composer Sarah Nemtsov written for the Ensemble Adapter. As a staged performance it was premiered at the Ultraschall Festival using a sort of musical choreography as a theatrical guideline. The players of the ensemble walk certain paths, illustrate, associate and open new spaces for thoughts and memories. An interdisciplinary collaboration of fine arts, literature, theatre and music.
