Kristjana Helgadóttir

Kristjana Helgadóttir studied flute with B. Wilkinson at the Conservatory of Reykjavík, where she received a docent diploma in 1994 and a performance diploma in 1995. She continued her studies with Abbie de Quant and Harrie Starreveld at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and received a Master diploma in 1998 and a certificate diploma in modern music in 1999.

Kristjana has been a music teacher and head of a department at the music school of Mosfellsbær in Iceland until 2010. Since 2010 she has been living and working in Berlin. As a freelance flutist she has worked with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, the Icelandic Opera Orchestra and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
